As a designer who ships, I operate across the entire product lifecycle – from user research and interaction design to Al-assisted full-stack development (I am non-technical), App Store optimisation and growth. In the last year, alongside cross-functional teams, I’ve driven design and front-end development for two web apps and three mobile apps. I’ve also independently designed, developed and distributed two native iOS apps in Swift. Zhiyin started as a side project I built in public and grew into my full-time work, and Chengyu Calendar, a daily Chinese idiom widget, followed this year.

My design and larger product instincts are grounded in my multidisciplinary humanities background. Anthropology, political science (BA, Colorado College) and history (Masters, University of Cambridge) taught me to analyse human behaviour, synthesise fragmented qualitative and quantitative data, and build coherent narratives from a messy sequence of events. Today, I apply that same rigor to product design. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, I also bring a global perspective to my work, shaped by international exposure in the US, UK, China, Taiwan and Singapore.
